From last two blogs I really learned lots of things about Germany, This is good experience for me to know a different country’s culture. Carina is one of German people that are really nice and polite. Before I have Germany friends, I heard a lot about German people being rude and unwilling to help. Carina told some that to refute this, for example, in many public place like stores, in the airport, in the train station, everyone is willing to help a tourist who doesn’t know the German Language. If you give someone a little, even just o.1 euro tip, the person will smile and thank you. This is probably because German people don’t believe that it is you duty to give a tip, so even the slightest contribution is always appreciated. These are widespread phenomenon in Germany.
Carina says Beer and Sausages are German’s daily life, probably more popular than Starbucks in United States. In Germany, they have a full menu for different types and brands of beers. Germany has over 1,300 breweries and more than 5,000 different brands of beer. Sounds like beer are never adequate for German. In Germany they would find German Sausages in anywhere. Carina also told my German are very punctual and strictly enforce and follow rules. They would rather be too early than too late. Punctuality is seen as a sign of respect to the person you are meeting. If people are late for their meeting, they will apologize. Same, train and bus schedules are given in exact minutes, people do expect transportation series to be true to their schedule. Carina says they love soccer, for this world cup Germany is the winner for this time. during the game, the offices are empty, the streets are empty, almost everyone is cheering for the German national team. Football is the number one most attended and practiced sport in Germany. It so popular that it could be considered a national pastime. If I get chance to travel Germany, I will be so exacted. German culture are hard to sift through the true and false about traditions, customs, and behaviors. After this conversation with German girl, I learn a lot and know some of the truer stereotypes I can expect to encounter on occasion in Germany. Carina is so a good exponent.
